Andrea Lamarsaude

I am that rare breed of native Dallasite still living in Dallas! Lake Highlands was my high school and I graduated with a marketing degree from SMU. I have lived in Dallas for most of my life and have also lived in Los Angeles & San Francisco, CA and in Paris, France. I am part of a French-American family - husband Christophe, born and raised in Paris, 16-year old daughter Emilie, born in San Francisco and two Dallas born tabbies (Lannister and Thor) and a Dallas born, sassy Maltese named Watson. I am a self-taught artist (abstract art, mixed media, mono-printing, and collage). I am a marketer and writer and have a great passion for telling stories using the written word. My art is an extension of that. My hope is that my work visually tells captivating stories, inspires conversations and pleasant dreams, and brings positive, creative energy into the world. I enjoy using a variety of mediums in my art; acrylic and oil paints, alcohol inks, mediums, pastels, mono-printing, hand-painted papers, stencils, image transfers, found objects, and lots of love. I derive much happiness in not knowing what the outcome of a work will be. I can see that this allows the piece to evolve the way it was meant to be. Trusting my intuition and following my heart has been the best way to create not only my art, but also my life.
