Visual Art – New York - NYC

My name is Amara Wahby and I'm currently a junior at Northwestern University, in Evanston Illinois. If I'm not at school, I am at home in the New York area. No matter where I am, I'm always making art! Over the years, I have gained experience in numerous mediums, such as oil, acrylic, and watercolor paint, charcoal, and graphite. Additionally, I'm a photographer and graphic designer. I have worked as a graphic designer at a tech company, Moblty Inc., which focuses on digitalizing retail. Most of my time at Moblty is spent creating prototypes and commercial advertisements aimed at driving sales in brick and mortar retail locations. The works showcased in my portfolio demonstrate how I gradually incorporated more meaning into my work and became more inventive with my approaches over time. I have grown more open to creating with both new and familiar materials in transformative ways. My goal as an artist is to elicit emotional responses from my viewers and to make them consider realities they might otherwise ignore, as Barbara Kruger does with her work. I am proficient in Sketch, Invision, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office & more.
