Photography – Orange County

I grew up on Maui, and moved to California in 2003 to attend LCAD in Laguna. I had always wanted to be an artist, and I was sure of that and nothing else. I would paint, draw, make jewelry...anything with my hands really. Something dark was going on inside of me during this time, and I left art school early. I felt paralyzed with fear whenever I would try to draw after that...and years and years went by and slowly but surely I let that dream die. On a whim, I took a black and white film class four years ago. Really, it reminded me of my Mother. I never had much interest in Photography. That was my Mother's passion. At 30 years old, I was bit. I started doing social media for work and the interest in capturing the world around me in a different way became stronger and stronger. These past few years have been a true blessing, a way for me to do what I didn't think I could do anymore...create art. I make my living off of my photos now, something I was never doing when I was younger. I have a long way to go, but the journey is scary good.
