Visual Art – Wollongong

Alice Allsopp is a passionate young artist who, like many artists, see aspects of life that the non-talented don’t always perceive or express. She sees beauty in the natural and human world around her, as well as the joys, sorrows and eccentricities of the human soul. She sees the darkness and light of life. She credits her inspiration by Freda Kahlo, Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh, from her life experiences and importantly from her Dad – who always supported and encouraged his childrens’ right to free expression. Alice has no preferred medium. She is equally passionate about her photography and video work, her graphic art and painting and drawing, for which she uses pencil, pastel, charcoal, and acrylic markers, and painting in acrylic and oil. "I have often thought that Alice was aptly named at birth. Alice in Wonderland." - Jenny Bowden, friend
