Alice Case

Alice Case’s paintings explore the human experience, the complex interwoven moments of our daily lives, and how our experiences are shaped by our memories, personal desires, images, information, and our role as individuals in a larger social structure. Her work often deals with dichotomies and forces that seem to be at odds with each other. Her most recent body of work, all involving flight patterns, explores the complexities surrounding what it feels like to be an individual in a globalized society recovering from financial collapse, and how this is shaping the way we experience our world, ranging from our cities, to our internal emotions, to how we experience nature. Alice received her MFA from the University of Washington in 2009, and since then she has been doing solo and group shows throughout Seattle and in Bellevue. In addition, she has been teaching painting and drawing classes at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle since early 2009.
