Visual Art – Seattle

I am a Seattle-based woodworker, potter, and visual artist, with a B.A. in Studio Art from Carleton College. Growing up, I spent summers on Stuart Island, WA. Exploring this remote piece of wilderness was formative; it made me resourceful, independent, and appreciative of nature. My interests in woodturning and photography emerged around 2007. As a curious student, I have practiced tirelessly and learned from mentors who generously shared their time and knowledge. Undergraduate professors exposed me to new mediums, and challenged me to think critically about my artmaking. Playing ultimate frisbee on high-school, college, club, and national teams has been an integral part of my life for more than 10 years, and has taught me the value of teamwork, tenacity, and effective communication skills. Through a career in the arts, I hope to cultivate a sustainable studio practice, share my passion for craftsmanship, and inspire creativity.
