Visual Art – Winnipeg

Growing up in a small town, Alayna Rose spent her days in her own little worlds and would turn those worlds into her own works of art. When it seemed as if there wasn't any more left to imagine, Alayna traveled to the not-so-big, big city to attend the School of Art at the University of Manitoba and was taught and encouraged to imagine even further. In her final semester of school, serendipity came along and Alayna discovered her love for abstract painting; soon evolving her abstractions into other series' years after graduation; involving sound painting, and portraiture. Having overcome her own experiences of anxiety and panic disorders with the use of some paint and a brush (along with a year of therapy and exceptional people), Alayna bases her work in the need for human connection, authenticity, vulnerability, the female narrative, and a little humour here and there. Alayna is currently based in Winnipeg working on ongoing projects while also taking on commissioned work.
